‘Water for Elephants’ trailer: Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon are magical
Whether you’re a Twihard with a life-sized Edward Cullen cut-out in your bedroom watching you sleep, or all things “Twilight” make you roll your eyes and stomp your feet, “Water for Elephants” will probably sway you over to Team Rob Pattinson pretty quick.
In the brand new trailer, Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon sparkle as Jacob (yeah, yeah, have a laugh) and Marlena, a vet and a performer traveling with the circus in the early 20th century. Their love story, told in flashbacks by Jacob at age 93 (Hal Holbrook), is complicated by her husband August (Christoph Waltz).
We’re already a little bit in love with the movie, just from the magical, cinematic feel of the trailer. The colors and the music are delightful, and we’re already looking forward to the performances. “Water for Elephants” is set for release on April 15, 2011. Will you be in line at the theater on opening night?
The Twilight Saga: New Moon has become a part of Guinness World Records 2011 for its successes in the box office.
Reports MTV, “‘The Twilight Saga: New Moon’ earned a place in the book for having the Highest Opening-Day Gross, $72.7 million, beating previous record holder, ‘The Dark Knight.'”
The Twilight Saga: New Moon also has number one opening day and single day gross totals as well as the biggest midnight opening.
Each year, the Guinness World Records book chronicles the biggest, smallest, longest, and shortest records associated with nearly every conceivable aspect of the world, but being placed in the text is a very coveted feat, so it’s a pretty big deal that New Moon made this year’s cut.
The Guinness World Records book was released on Tuesday, September 14th.
Last year, both Twilight and its director, Catherine Hardwicke, were placed in the 2010 edition for “Highest-Grossing Movie by a Female Director.”
Before Robert Pattinson won the adoration the world’s teenagers for playing Edward Cullen in “The Twilight Saga””The Bad Mother’s Handbook” is finally due to be released on August 24.
Pattinson stars as Daniel Gale, a teen who is in love with Charlotte Cooper (Holly Grainger). However, things take an interesting turn for Daniel when he discovers Charlotte may be pregnant.
Meanwhile, as the nine months pass, the young man gets to know Charlotte’s family, which includes her mother, Karen (Catherine Tate), who gave birth to her daughter when she was a teenager as well.
Although Pattinson is best known for starring in “Twilight,” there are plenty of other films that fans of his work may enjoy. In fact, the tearjerker “Remember Me,” which also stars Emilie de Ravin, was just released on DVD.
The talented performer also starred in the independent drama “Little Ashes,” in which he played the renowned Spanish artist Salvador Dali.
Vodpod videos no longer available.
Being pasty, mopey and filled with indescribable longing isn’t just for sparkly vampires anymore.
Twilight‘s Robert Pattinson shows off his acting chops in The Bad Mother’s Handbook, a 2007 BBC family drama in which the future Edward Cullen plays a super uncomfortable, scarf-wearing nerd—and is totally adorable at it, sigh—who begins a sweet romance with a pregnant classmate.
Hitting DVD on Aug. 24, on the heels of Eclipse, the film also stars Dr. Who‘s Catherine Tate, which adds immeasurably to its potent combination of nerd-chic and romantic angst. Check out some of the R.Pattziest parts in the clip above.
Director Daisy Gili On Her Robert Pattinson-Starring Short Film ‘The Summer House’
The only Robert Pattinson project most people know from his pre-“Twilight” days is his small role in “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” as Cedric Diggory, but as his popularity has grown, more of his earlier projects are getting wide release. The latest of those is the short film “The Summer House,” which was filmed for a week back in the summer of 2006, but is only hitting film festivals and iTunes this year. You can watch the trailer here.
First-time director Daisy Gili said she actually cast Rob because she was recommended him by Campbell Mitchell, who had worked on props for another of his early projects, “The Haunted Airman.”
“He said, this guy is amazing, and he’s really nice, and I think he’d be really up for working on a short film,” Gili told MTV News. “I saw a picture of him and I thought, he’s fantastic.”
Up until that point, Rob’s costar Talulah Riley was best known for her work in Joe Wright’s “Pride & Prejudice,” and hadn’t yet starred in her big hit, “Pirate Radio” (known as “The Boat That Rocked” in the UK). Gili hired a cast director to find her an actress to play the short’s main character, Jane, and thought Talulah was the perfect fit.
“Talulah was amazing. The thing that I found most amazing about her was her versatility. You could give her a small amount of direction, and she would deliver a completely different but equally wonderful performance. I was like, wow,” said Gili.
But it was the chemistry between the two that really helped the film work. At 13 minutes in length, “The Summer House” follows Jane as she flees to France to stay with her aunt after her boyfriend Richard (Rob) dumps her for another girl. However, he follows her to the summer house to try to win her back and, on the night of the moon landing, tries to make his move. The result of his efforts helps Jane realize that — in Gili’ words — love isn’t black and white.
It was necessary to Gili to have the film set on the night of the moon landing because she felt everyone remembers where they were the night man landed on the moon, but the night was important for Jane because she realized that love was different and more complicated than she had always imagined. “I think you needed [something as momentous as] the moon landing to kind of help the slightness of the story become stronger,” she said.
Gili felt the character of Richard was a struggle for Rob, because he had to play someone so different from himself. “He’s quite a gentle person. He’s a really nice person. And he has to play quite a not very nice character, and I think he struggled with that,” Gili said. “He wasn’t playing a role that he was particularly comfortable with, but he still manages to have a real presence: brooding, slightly menacing. You’re never quite sure whether he wants her because he wants to have sex with her or because he loves her. And I think he delivers that brilliantly.”
After watching the short, we have to agree with her on Rob’s performance, and “Twilight” fans will see a little bit of what would become Edward Cullen in Rob’s portrayal of Richard. But, beyond the great acting, the set and costume design were our favorite parts of the film. The short is based on a short story of the same name, and Gili said they were able to film for free in the summer house that inspired the story.
The dresses are vintage 1960s as well because Gili borrowed them from her mother, though the gorgeous green dress Talulah wears at the end was a creation of their costume designer. The pearls she wears at the end of the film were borrowed by the French actress, Marianne Borgo, who plays her aunt in the film, just like Jane would have borrowed them from her aunt in the film.
“The Summer House” had its premiere at the Toronto Film Festival earlier this year, and is going to be offered for $1.99 on iTunes starting July 13 by Shorts International. It will next be shown at the Rushes Soho Short Film Festival later this month. But for anyone hoping to catch a sight of Rob promoting the short, Gili said she feels chances are slim. Many things have changed in the life of Robert Pattinson since he performed as Richard, and now he is much harder to get in contact with. In fact, Gili doesn’t even know if he’s seen the film, though she knows many of his fans want to.
“A whole variety of people are really interested, and I hope that they’ll enjoy what they see. I hope they won’t be disappointed that there isn’t more of him, if you know what I mean,” she said. “And I hope he enjoys it too! I’ve not heard back from him about it. I think his agent saw.”

Rob all wet in the shower …. * ______________dead now *
Looking at these two pics, we can safely say that Emilie de Ravin wasn’t lying when she told MTV News last month that she and Rob hit it off right away. “I flew to New York to test with Rob and we immediately got along and had instant great chemistry, which is not an easy thing to come by,” she said. “Obviously you’re acting, but you want to have that connection with somebody. We had it.”
Though we love seeing Rob in a plaid shirt getting, you know, frisky on a bed, we have to admit this second image might be our favorite. It’s nice seeing him let loose for a role — it’s a welcome change from his polite and guarded Edward Cullen ways. When it comes to Emilie, on the other hand, we have to wonder how many pieces of sexy lingerie she had to try on to make this scene work!

Starve A Vampire, Give Blood!
Every minute of every day, someone needs blood. That blood can only come from a volunteer donor, a person like you who makes the choice to donate. There is no substitute for your donation.
We are teaming forcing with Twilight, True Blood and Vampire Diaries fans all over the U.S.A. to have a national Starve a Vampire, Give Blood Campaign. With so many Vampire fans all over and knowing we can make a difference if we all join forces, we can make this drive really count for people that need blood every day.
The Campaign will run form March 1st-14th. You can either give blood on this day or make an appointment to give blood. Shelf life for Blood is only 42 days, so spreading this campaign out seems to be a right choice. After talking to the Red Cross, O- blood is highly needed.

Pierce Brosnan Praises Rob
Pierce Brosnan has nothing but praise for his Remember Me costar Robert Pattinson. The former James Bond star tells Parade magazine Pattinson, 23, gives a “fantastic performance” in the drama.
Brosnan adds. “I know it’s tough for Robert to cope with that kind of attention. I’ve been there and I sympathize with him, but I think he’s handling it quite well. I think that, so far, he’s got it under control.”
“The movie ‘Remember Me’ is really, really well done by Robert.”- Pierce Brosnan
The actor was all praise for the new teenage sensation Pattinson and the way he is handling his new-found fame, an article in Irishcentral claims. The website quotes Brosnan as saying, “With Robert Pattinson, I have watched this young lad really acquit himself very gracefully.
“He’s doing allright with the pressure. He knows what to do and how to do it. It’s a bit overwhelming for him at times. I mean he really did enter into the vortex of fame with the speed of a flame. So I think he’s got it in control. The movie ‘Remember Me’ is really, really well done by Robert.”
Brosnan was also impressed with the way the Twilight lad is handling his career and with his choice of films. Knowing full well how one charismatic character can get you branded for life and how difficult it is to break out of that popular image, he thinks Pattz has shown signs of remarkable maturity in the way he is trying to shed the Edward Cullen mantle even before the series is over.
Stupid Shiny Volvo
“All these teenagers were going crazy about the C30,” says Carmelo Scalzo, general manager of Volvo of Oak Park. “After the movie launched, we saw this spike in C30 sales. We didn’t know what had happened until we put two and two together.”
But for some, just seeing one is enough.
“I have people coming in with their kids who are taking pictures with the cars,” say Pat Hubert, general manager of Fields Volvo in Highland Park. “These are younger kids, probably 12 or 13 years old. Their parents say they’ll come back when they’re older.”
