Stephenie Meyer Talk To Fansite – Twifans

Four lucky fansites got the chance to interview Stephenie Meyer , here’s part of the interview from Twifans.

They talked about the tent scene , Bella riding off with Jacob , Midnight Sun & more.

You can read the rest at Twifans.

The Motorcycle Drive Off, The Wrong Volvo, Angryward, & Rob’s Best Day On Set. PLUS! As producer, can Stephenie Meyer create a Breaking Dawn that’s closer to the book?

Stephenie Meyer has had more and more say when it comes to how the movies are made from her beautifully written books. It’s hard to get every scene in a 2 hour movie just as it was written in a 629 page book. Stephenie gives advice and guidance when she can. We are very excited that Stephenie will be a producer on ‘Breaking Dawn 1 & 2’ even though she has taken a very active role in ‘Eclipse.’

Ultimately Stephenie Meyer’s opinion on the movies is very important to book fans. Usually we tend to agree with the talented lady that wrote the saga. So we brought up some questions in our interview hoping to get down to the bottom of the movie discussions we have had here on twifans.

Transcription:
Kim: Okay, we have a question about the Angry Edward, and how hot he is. When he gets angry, he pulls up, and he’s like…ya know……if you ever touch her against her will again. All the fans just love it. We all love it and everybody went crazy. The members, our members, we all wanna know about angry Edward.

Alison: Why do you think the fandom thinks Angry Edward is SO hot?

SM: Ya know it’s funny about this scene, and Meghan’s giving me the eye. That’s the one I walked out on, on the dailies because in my head that scene was so much different. In the movie Edward is quite separate motivation-ally from the book Edward. At this point in the film in the story for me he’s gotten past this. Like he’s realized “I can’t act like a teenage boy anymore. I have to give her space. I have to be the mature one here.” And in that scene in the book, he has, icy calm control. He is very gentle. He is very soft spoken. He is very mature. So when I see him….and plus ya know, the movies are unable to bring to life some of the elements in the mythology. If Edward had, in anger, grabbed Jacob by the shoulder, his arm would have come off. And the fact that Taylor is uninjured, and that he just kind of sits there…..bothered me. So I’m like…wait! If we are gonna go for it, tear his arm off. Ya know. And it’s hard for them, because blood puts you over the limit and stuff, and they would not tear off Jacob’s arm. I’m like….if we want angry Edward, I wanna see some blood. They had already filmed that day, so we couldn’t redo it but, people have responded really well to it.

Kim: That is the thing because it is different than the book.

Alison: He’s as close to a vampire as we’ve seen him, because he was so restrained.

SM: And restraint is pretty much his middle name. And we don’t have the scene early in the book, where she comes back from La Push, and he’s like “are you trying to make me insane?” He really lost it. We don’t have that evolution where he goes overboard. We have a little bit, the battery disabling. Which is really over the line, and then he’s supposed to learn and he’s supposed to stop. By that point, we’re so far in, it’s like….”why is he still acting like this?” But okay, it is hot…I’ll give you that.

Kim: It turned out well considering it was a deviation from the book, and anyway……we liked it.

Instead of running off with Jacob when Edward was off hunting, Bella jumps on a motorcycle right in front of Edward’s face. The day the clip came out, all I heard was “Bella would never do that!” or “Book Bella would have never hurt Edward like that!”

Transcription:
Alison: This is the only disruption in the force so far. The motorcycle clips. Where Bella gets on the motorcycle with Jacob. Our members wanna know, they don’t think that book Bella would have done that, would have ever hurt Edward like that.

SM: I have heard, I have read the comments, and I said the exact same thing. That was one of those days that I flew down. I’m like the way that this you know in the script I said the way that this is written her getting on the back of the bicycle is a direct response here “You lied to me, well I’m going with him” & we were able the day of, they cut down the clip that they played for MTV and stuff, we were able to soften it. We were able to get some lines in and you’ve seen the whole thing, so you know there’s a breakaway we tried to put in….her response to Edward, and then now it becomes about Jacob. “Why haven’t you called me?” We tried as hard as we could to soften, how that went down so it didn’t feel like, something “Well, I’m gonna go get on the back of his motorcycle” because I felt like that was NOT Bella at all & it’s not assertive, it’s rude. You know what I mean. It’s not like….

Alison: It’s too reactionary

SM: It’s not like, “I’m a strong female character” It’s like “I’m a jerk”

Alison: We were mad at movie Bella. (Laughs) Book Bella and I were okay, but movie Bella & I were like uh.

SM: That was more or less my same reaction. I think that in the form that it exists in the film……its better now. I think it works somewhat. I still think it’s kind of a stretch that she would do that. You only have so much you can do. That was one I lost. Early in I lost that one. You do what you can do.

Alison: They’ll be happy you agree!

Rob, Kristen & Taylor Interviewed By Bild.de (Germany)

BamS:Miss Stewart, Mister Pattinson, Mister Lautner…After you´ve done at least three movies out of the Twilight saga, do you think of the time when it ends?
ROB: I mean, it´s almost impossible to understand this kind of experience right now. It all happened in such a short period of time, it´s like a supernova.
KRISTEN: I really admire my role of Bella. She feels like a sister to me. I could do this, like, forever.

BamS: Which scene out of Eclipse do you remember the best?
KRISTEN: When Taylor actually had to say “I´m hotter than you” to Rob, it was so funny. I almost couldn´t stop laughing. Even after the like 50th time it was funny.
TAYLOR: I had to carry Kristen up of the mountain and while doing so I had to say 4 pages of lines. (he also tells the story about the thing they built for that scene, but they didn´t use because it looked not “real”)

BamS: Who´s your “role model”?
TAYLOR: My role model is Tom Cruise. He´s got a lot of different facets and he´s super nice. My female favorite is Jessica Alba. She´s a dream girl and dream co-star in one person.
KRISTEN: I definitely look up to the rocksinger Joan Jett. I recently portrait her in a biopic called “The Runaways” and so I had the opportunity to get to know her. Joan showed the all-male rock business that girls can rock out too. And she stayed the same, and you need to have a lot of courage to do so.

BamS: How do you feel when you meet a star?
ROB: I sat next to David and Victoria Beckham once, in a L.A. restaurant. That kinda shocked me, it was surreal.

BamS: What was the craziest thing you´ve read about yourselves?
Tay: That I was dead. Really! I died a couple of times. Once they said australian dancers had killed me.
Rob: I was voted for the best dressed man by a magazine. And I looked down on me; wearing training clothes, realy old, cut off shoes and tuxedo socks-so best dressed?

BamS: You find yourself put in situations you´ve never thought about, right?
ROB: Paparazzi follow me everywhere I go, like to the weirdest places. I have to get used to that. I was photographed while buying a pair of boxer shorts recently in London and a friend of mine was wiht me and he bought a pair too to make me feel more comfortable.
TAYLOR: The most bizarre thing that happened to me was when a woman from Sydney came to me and asked for an autograph on her arm. On the next day there was an article in the newspaper that she´d tattoed my autograph on her arm.

BamS: Twilight conveys some kind of old-fashioned themes. Like ever lasting love, no sex before marriage.
ROB: Some people meet in a bar and have sex the same night and stay together for the rest of their lives. Some are together without marrying each other, get 5 children and marry afterward. I think society shouldn´t put off rules about how you have to live your life. Every one should be able to decide on their own.

BamS: Edward seems to wake up some kind of archaic thing in women, the noble gentleman who is carrying his girl on hands. Where did the emancipation go?
ROB: I kind of wondered about that too. Laughs.

BamS: What can young people learn from Edward?
ROB: He´s sympathetic, forgives his girlfriend even if she kissed another guy. Good man.

Bams: How much of you one can find in your characters?
TAYLOR: Privately, we behave like every other normal human being.

BamS: What do you do to remain the same person you used to be before this phenomenon?
KRISTEN: You just shouldn´t think about it that much. I mean, it´s great but on the other hand very surreal. It´s a heavy trip-but it´s a lot of fun!

New Outtake From Entertainment Weekly

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse stars KRISTEN STEWART, ROB PATTINSON, and TAYLOR LAUTNER talk about the pressures of promoting a blockbuster film:

Kristen: ”Things have looked up for me as soon as I stopped worrying about it and relinquished the control — not even relinquished the control, just realized that I never had it. As soon as I stopped getting nervous and freaked out by stuff, I had a much better time.”

ROB: ”When you first start doing it, it is so overwhelming that you think it’s the most important thing in the world, the whole thing about public image and persona and stuff. And then you realize the whole thing about marketing is just having your face everywhere and that’s it. It doesn’t matter what you say.

TAYLOR: ”I think just by repetition and experience it’s made it more comfortable. It got a lot better when I learned that the easiest way to go about it is just be honest and be yourself.” —As told to Nicole Sperling

‘Eclipse’ Cast Interview From The Black Carpet

LOS ANGELES – From Winnipeg, Canada to Erie, Pennsylvania, from 13-year-olds to 53-year-olds, hundreds of “Twilight” fans camped out at the Nokia Plaza where the “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” recently premiered just to get a glimpse, an autograph or a photo of their favorite “Twilight” stars in a coveted spot on the red carpet.

The third installment of the popular franchise, which stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, was screened as part of the Los Angeles Film Festival at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live.

Around 500 fans, who set up tents and waited for more than 90 hours just to see their vampire stars, even brought their favorite “Twilight” paraphernalia with them – blankets, towels, photos, posters, t-shirts, fans, among others.

We interviewed the “Twilight” stars at the Four Seasons Hotel in Los Angeles and got a glimpse of how the stars of the blockbuster series have grown and matured.

Donning a shorter cropped hairstyle, Robert, who portrays Edward Cullen in the David Slade-helmed movie, revealed that the easiest scene for him was when his character proposed to Bella Swan (Kristen) in the meadow.

He said, “Probably the easiest scene to do was when Kristen and I were in the meadow and I was asking her to marry me and stuff.”

As for the most difficult one, Robert admitted, “It had to be the tent scene where the three of us were inside the tent. I was so tired already when we were shooting that scene and I kept forgetting my lines. I was just absolutely exhausted when I did it. I could not remember my lines and I was just all over the place that day. I was getting so stressed out all the time. After about five takes, Kristen, who was supposed to be asleep on the floor, sort of looked up and tried to make me laugh the entire time. So the entire scene, I was trying to stop myself from laughing.”

Asked what he looks for in a wife or a girlfriend, Robert disclosed, “I haven’t really thought about it but she has to like dogs (laughs). I also do not like people who shout a lot (laughs). That drives me crazy.

Yeah must like dogs and no shouters. That’s about it! (laughs)”

Kristen, on the other hand, was dressed in a colorful mini dress and was more relaxed than before.

The 20-year-old poised actress explained how she chooses her films. She said, “I choose my films instinctively and I really do not know what’s going to be a hit and what other people are going to take to. It’s not really what I’m concerned with. I do not give myself that added pressure.”

In “Eclipse,” Kristen is literally carried around by a shirtless Taylor (Jacob) and protected by both Robert and Taylor. Was it frustrating for her not to kick butt instead, we asked.

“Right,” she replied. “That’s what’s so frustrating for Bella because she’s like ‘Okay, there’s really nothing I can do.’ If they were all humans, then she would definitely be like in the fight. There’s even a line, ‘Is there anything I can do?’ She’s running around the woods like pricking her finger to put scent down which is just like a joke and she says, ‘If this is all I can contribute then I want to be thorough.’ I am totally not like that but I feel like that’s good because Bella’s not either.”

She admitted it was hard to hold back and not do anything. “I could probably be certified like absolutely insane at this point because I’ve gotten so into the head space of ‘Twilight’s’ reality,” she said. “But I wouldn’t because there are vampires there and there are wolves. If there was even a moment where she could do something, she would do it but there’s really never any point. Yeah, I get frustrated. I wish I could have done all the fight training and stuff that seemed fun.”

Confident and mature for his 18 years, Taylor talked about how the cast has become close over all these “Twilight” movies.

“Rob is very funny,” he disclosed. “I am always laughing with him so that’s a major reason why it’s so hard to be his rival. Rob is hilarious. We get along great. We are good friends.”

“Kristen and I are super close,” he added. “We talk about anything and everything. During downtime, we’ll either throw a football around or she’ll throw a grape and I’ll catch it in my mouth (laughter), oddly enough (laughter). You get really bored on the set sometimes so you get creative. But she’s very athletic so I have fun with that. I’m usually the practical jokester but I think I’ve behaved myself pretty well on the sets (laughter). I haven’t cut loose yet. I’ll change that up for ‘Breaking Dawn’ (the next installment in two parts). Don’t worry about that. We get along well and we’re super close. I don’t know how we would film this franchise if we weren’t as close as we are. It would be a nightmare.”

Asked how he has maintained his buff physique that he displays most of the time in “Eclipse,” Taylor said that he continues to eat properly and exercise. “I still eat leafy vegetables and go to the gym regularly,” he revealed. “The most interesting thing that I’ve found is it was pretty difficult to put that muscle on in the first place but it’s actually just as hard to maintain it. I’ve been busy so whenever I can’t get into the gym or whenever I can’t eat every two hours, I lose it like that. I’ll drop five pounds and then it takes a long time to put it back on again so it’s important for me to stay on it so I can maintain it because it’s pretty hard. It’s still a lot of work.”

Bryce Dallas Howard, the lovely daughter of filmmaker Ron Howard, is a welcome addition to this movie as she portrays the evil vampire, Victoria.

Bryce, who has a three-year-old son Theo with actor Seth Gabel, revealed that she accepted the role of Victoria because “I had read the books actually before I saw ‘Twilight.’ I was almost practically a ‘Twi-Hard.’ That’s what people call us who love the books (laughs). After I got the call to do the role, 48 hours later, I was on a plane to go shoot it. I love the books and I love the character. I was really enticed about the prospect of getting to spend a period of time investigating the psychology of Victoria.”

Asked why this series struck such a chord with moviegoers, Bryce explained, “For me, when I read the books, to be honest, I had never read anything like it – for example, the depth of feeling that Bella goes through. Actually, one of my guy friends who is heterosexual read the books and said, ‘I’m having a crisis right now because I’m in love with Edward Cullen.’ Stephenie Meyer has just really tapped into something profound with her writing, where she’s just been able to illuminate this epic love on the page.”

“There’s not many authors who have done that,” she continued.

As for the three “Twilight” stars, Bryce observed that they are handling their popularity very well.

“There’s a lot of excitement about the three leads as actors and as individuals,” she said. “They are all very humble people. They are not caught up with themselves at all. They’re very grateful to be a part of these stories. They feel the attention that they’re getting is because of the characters that they’re playing, not because of who they are. That’s a testament to their humility. They’re dealing with their popularity really well.”

‘Twilight’ stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner talk ‘Eclipse’

by Nicole Sperling

As the highly-anticipated Twilight Saga: Eclipse prepares to descend on theaters June 30, stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner get together in L.A. for a frank discussion about the roles they play within the Twilight universe — both on screen and off. They also open up about their Oprah appearance, staying fit, and what it took to film a climactic scene in Eclipse, in which the three characters are forced to wait out a blizzard in incredibly close proximity.ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: One scene fans have been dying to see takes place in the tent during the snowstorm. Jacob warms up Bella with his body because Edward is cold-blooded and can’t do it himself.
LAUTNER: The tent scene is probably my favorite, because it’s the first time Edward and Jacob are actually able to connect and understand each other.

How many takes did you go through to get that scene?
LAUTNER: Two days originally to film it, and then a full day of reshoots.

Why?
PATTINSON: [The director] wanted it to be more erotic. Seriously.
STEWART: It’s true. In the book there’s a serious sexual tension. As I’m sleeping, Jacob is staring over my vulnerable body, and he’s naked in this f- - -ing sleeping bag because you heat up faster that way, and Jacob and Edward are leveling with each other.

Taylor, you and Rob have some pretty serious confrontations in this movie.
LAUTNER: Some of those scenes were pretty hard for me. I think we ruined a couple of takes in front of the house and in the tent. It’s just, I don’t know, I have a hard time looking at him…
STEWART: Ha! “I have such a hard time looking at him”!
LAUTNER: [Laughs] I wasn’t finished. He and I were thisclose to each other — we are literally, like, an inch away — and we’re screaming at each other.
STEWART: And about to kiss…
LAUTNER: A couple of moments it felt like that.
PATTINSON: Every single time we had to do a threatening thing to each other — for one thing, you always have your shirt off, and so in the tent scene I literally grabbed your breast. And it’s very difficult to remain in the moment. Also, in that tent scene, I can’t really get over the fact that the word thought sounds like fart.
STEWART: The word thought does not sound like fart.
PATTINSON: It does.
STEWART: Maybe because you are an English person.
PATTINSON: The opening line of that scene is “Can you at least keep your farts to yourself?” I couldn’t quite get over that.

MTV Movie Awards: Rob Pattinson Steals the Show and a Kiss From Kristen

As Team Edward gears up to claim victory over Team Jacob this month when The Twilight Saga: Eclipse finally hits theaters, Twihards let it be known that they’re not done celebrating the splendor that was New Moon yet.

The vampirific sequel was named Best Movie at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday and saw its reach extend into five categories overall, more proof that the young’uns who vote for such things don’t give two hoots what critics say, they just want their Ed TV.

And it’s ironic that there’s now an award for Best WTF Moment, considering the entire telecast itself was, in fact, a chain of WTF moments. Some were excruciatingly bad (A for effort, host Aziz Ansari) but, happily, many ranged from quite funny to downright hilarious.

First of all, perhaps sensing cinematic blood in the water once again, Robert Pattinson and his smokin’ short ‘do had a very dominant night.

The British heartthrob took home a leading three gilded buckets of popcorn, including the first-ever bucket for Global Superstar, a fans’ choice award for which he beat out both of his Twilight cosuperstars as well as Zac Efron and Johnny Depp.

Pattinson also won for Best Male Performance, after which he endearingly thanked his parents for conceiving him and Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke, “who I owe a lot now, like everything.”

Kristen Stewart, winner for Best Female Performance for New Moon, gave one of her signature nonspeeches, first asking the stars of Grown Ups, who presented her with the award, if they “want to do this for me?”

“Thank you so much. I guess Twilight is really awesome, and I agree. Whoo!” she gave a thumbs-up. [Director] Chris Weitz, I haven’t talked to him in awhile. How cool is this, right? I’m going to peace out and thank you so much.”

Pattinson, sitting with his knees tucked under his chin, looked positively dazzled the entire time, however. And that must have stirred his inner mischief-maker because, when he and Stewart made their second trip in as many years to the podium to accept the popcorn for Best Kiss, he didn’t let his costar get away with her usual “it takes a lot of smoke and mirrors to make us look good kissing,” and planted one on her anyway when her guard was down.

Stewart somehow managed not to spontaneously combust.
